Other than great hay, there is nothing better than a huge variety of leaves, flowers, sticks, and other plant bits.  If you are lucky enough to have a garden, you’ve got food!  A lot of these things can be done in containers, and even indoors, so if you don’t have 40 acres, don’t worry.  (here’s a great guide to container gardening from Mother Earth News)  If you have a “black thumb”, and can’t seem to grow anything at all, check out these tips from Real Simple.

Here are suggestions for things everybun will love:

edible plants, edible flowers

Nasturtium

Dandelions

Chamomile

herbs for rabbits, herbs rabbits love, herbs and rabbits

HERBS

Mint

Fennel

Basil

Parsley

Cilantro

Dill

Chervil

Lemon Balm

Marjoram

Thyme

how much lettuce, how many greens for a rabbit, house rabbit diet

GREENS

Bok Choi

Romaine

Watercress

Frisee

Spinach

Kale

Oat, wheat, and rye grasses

Carrots (not for the orange root, but for the leafy tops!)

Beets (for leafy tops)

Radishes (for the tops)

rabbit nutrition, rabbit wellness

Of course, no pesticides on these plants, and if you can use nice compost that is even better.  Remember how sensitive our little friends are to chemicals and toxins.

Go on out to the garden, and maybe even take your rabbit with you!  (The only help you’ll get from them is maybe “thinning” the plants, but they’ll have a great time.)
